A Got To See Movie! May 27, 2010 Patricia Ann Ingram (Panama City Fl) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
You will go through many emotions in this movie, but in the end you will be glad you bought it. I think it is definitely one of the best movies I have seen in a long time, with an ending that is sure to surprise and please everyone.
True Dressage Riders will spot lots of flaws but you will still enjoy it May 26, 2010 Mahlers2nd 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
There are many horse movies -- Seabiscuit, Flicka the Black Stallion... but I don't think I can name a single horse movie about dressage. For that reason alone, this movie caught my attention.
The riders are beautiful and the horses even more so. Tolo reminds me very much of my horse, Ollie.
However, the acting is mediocre... the plot is contrived. Even the most "amateur" of dressage riders will spot glaring inaccuracies.
However, you will find yourself watching the movie over and over again because it we horse people can all relate to the relationship with our horse. We can relate to being moms and overcoming financial obstacles to sustain our riding, even when it makes very little financial sense.
The characters are likable (except for the husband who causes all the problems to begin with) and as I said, you'll be enthralled by the competition scenes. The ending will make you cry, and you will be drawn to watching it for those times when you long to see your horse but can't (because it is 1:00 a.m. in the morning and the owners of the barn where he is boarded would have you arrested if you showed up just to give him a hug!).
If you aren't into horses, don't care about dressage, and are looking for a great piece of cinematic art (like Seabiscuit), then you'll most likely not really bond with this movie. However, if you dream of progressing scoring 8's on your next dressage test and your therapist/ideal workout is a horse and a good sitting trot, then this is the movie for you.

I felt the acting was a bit under standard but still enjoyed the movie. This movie is good for all ages.

Rather than review this movie by telling the story about the movie my recommendation would be for everyone to see this movie to appreciate it. I first saw this movie on the Hallmark Channel and fell in love with the movie. I wasn't sure if this was an original movie from Hallmark until I happened to stumble upon it at Amazon and it was a movie I had to add to my collection. It is a heartwarming story with a wonderful ending. I would recommend this movie to anyone.

An excellent movie from start to "happy ending". Teaches young and old about COURAGE to JUST DO IT. Well worth watching as well as great Christmas gift!!!
