Amazon.com Product Description The Marin Engineer boot from Miz Mooz has a rural, rugged feel with a sassy city-chic edge. The luxurious leather upper is grainy with a worn-in feel. The leather straps on the shaft and around the ankle have gleamy metal chunky buckles that adds an edgy weathered look to this sophisticated style that will lend a funky edge to any outfit.

Love these Miz Mooz black boots! November 2, 2008 Cristi (Redondo Beach, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I had been looking for a pair of Black Leather Knee High Riding Boots for a few months now in either lace-up-the-front boots or a classy pair of buckle riding boots when I came across these 'Miz Mooz Women's Marin Engine Boots in Black'. I ordered these boots as well as a pair of Steve Madden lace up knee boots and out of both of these the Miz Mooz looked the best. The leather on these is very soft n' supple and not stiff like boots tend to be and they're super comfortable, too. Note= these do fit 1/2 a size larger than the size indicates so be sure to buy 1/2 down or they'll be too large. I usually wear a 7 1/2 to an 8 in shoes and was glad I ordered these in the 7's as they fit perfectly with room for knee socks & a bit of wiggle room. I love the faux lambswool fur inside which makes them even more comfy on your legs while keeping them warm as well- not to the point of being too hot but just keeping them toasty & warm. I like how these boots fit tighter to my legs since I have a hard time finding knee boots that actually fit like they're supposed to without being too big on the legs since I have skinnier legs. It seems that most knee boots tend to be made for larger calves & legs and usually looks like I'm swimming in them but not a problem with these boots as they fit slimmer. I love the buckles at the top of the boot as well as the ones at the bottom which gives them more character like a engineer boot should. These have inside zippers for easy on & off, non-slip traction soles and even the two top leather straps that go through the buckles have wire in the inside leather so if the straps get pushed back you just have to pull them to the front of the buckle & they stay in place. Very cute boots even though I wish Miz Mooz would also come out with a taller lace up the front boot with a one strap buckle closure at the top of the boot as well as the bottom of the boot where the ankle is. When I first ordered these I was wondering if they would look too much like biker boots but with the two buckle straps on top they made them look less like biker boots. I love riding boots which I've worn for years but I always wonder why every shoe company out there can't make these REAL knee high boots instead of ending at 5"-8" below the knee. I like these boots so much I may even buy them in the brown. The one tiny thing that I didn't like is the tiny holes where the buckle closure fits into don't have enough holes so I'll have to take to a shoe repair place for them to make a few more holes so the buckles on the bottom can be buckled tighter for a better fit. Great boots!
