My four-year-old daughter picked out this style over the pink kitties, the pink plaid and the glittery cowboy boots, but the main reason was fit. The kitties and hearts fit slimmer and more true-to-size than the cowboy and other styles that have more of a "lug" sole. Although she's a 9, she went all the way down to a 7 in those styles, which I know isn't right. I recommend trying this on in a store before you buy.

I was a bit discouraged to buy the boots in fear of the weight of the actual boots. But, the weight is light enough for a 2-yr old to stomp around in the rain or mud. The boot is equally rubber gripped on the underneath of the boot that it's safe enough to walk on a slippery piece of ice/snow. Cleaning the boot is even easier than rinsing a cup!
